hello all. We do not live in Alaska however it is so nice to find a web site like this. We live in alabama and homestead on a small piece of land. We have a garden that feeds all seven of us. We have chickens, rabbits, ducks, parkeets, frogs, dogs, cats, hermit crabs, goats and and and as you can see we have many many animals and would not have it any other way..
I look forward to learning more and more from each and every one of you.
We homeschool our five children ages 15,14,12,11 and 10. This with all the animals and the garden sure do keep us busy.. And we love it.
That is a little about us.

Welcome! I am sure you will love it here. It has been kind of slow lately.
I have five kiddos, too. My oldest will be 15 next week. But...it took us *a lot* longer to have five children than it took you. Boy, you had them close together. My youngest is 3 years old. It took us 12 years to have 5 kids.
Anyway, it sounds like you have quite the homestead. Any aspirations of moving to Alaska? Or are you just interested in the Homesteading part? Sorry to ask so many questions.
Its great to "see new faces" around here.
I look forward to getting to know you.
K

Good Morning well I have to be honest with you we have looked around the web site and we love the whole site. It is growing and looks great.
We have talked about moving to Alaska many times however when your home is payed for and you have worked so hard to get where you are it is hard to decide to just pick up and move and honestly right now we feel we are were God Wants us to be.
I am not sure how many of you out there homeschool but we do and we also homechurch.
I am growing more and more herbs this year. I have also got a few books on how to use them for meds. We have used herbals for a while however they have been the store bought type. We want to get more into growing and useing what we grow for the medical issue.
Yes we did have our children rather close together but i have to be honest with you we love it. I can say there is never a borning moment in our home..
Well time for Bible Study...

Hello Glenda and Family,
Welcome from Chuck and Jenny. This is Jenny here right now. (Can you tell we love old time radio shows, and one of our favorites is Lum and Abner? ;D ) Your life sounds WONDERFUL! I grew up in Georgia, so it's nice to see another Southerner here. We are getting ready to move back to our homestead in a few days and I have a question for you. How do you do your home church? Chuck and I didn't have children when we were there before, so it was just the two of us. But on Sundays, we tried to make it a special family time, and we listened to taped sermons friends would send from their churches in the lower 48. It's been great to have a church family since we've been living in Dillingham, AK, but now we have 3 children and would love to see how others do it. There are no other families in the area, and our homestead is not on the road system ----- we're about a mile from a fly-in only lake. Our children are ages 3 yrs. (next month), 14 months, and the youngest is 10 months. We have family devotions/Bible story time with singing and praise every evening before bed, and they all do well in church, which is a house church here. Any suggestions or ideas for when we get back home?
God bless you greatly,
Jenny, Chuck and the boys

Hello and Good Morning to all. What a wonderful and Blessed day...
Well I will start out my answering your question on Home Churching. It is not much different than House Churching. We do all the same things as any other church service. My husband leads our home in prayer we have singing. We sometimes use tapes of other pastors it just depends on what my husbands feels the lord has lead him to do for that time period. It also depends on what the lord has layed on our hearts. Our children are taught right from the word of god. We have in the past those children type bibles however our children are older now and well we go stright to the word of god. Sometimes our church will last for only a hour sometimes it last for hours it depends on what is happening.. Honestly if the children or I have questions then we stay there until god has given us the answers we need throgh the word. We also do a bible study every day some people call it devotions we just call it bible study.. My husband sayss we are doing nothing different than the early people did when they went west.. they did not have churches they just studdied there bibles and had a family time together. I hope that helps. I do want to tell you however do not forsake the fellowship with like minded people. We do have some dear friends that are about two hours away from us. We try to get together with them as we can.. I need that the children need that, my husband needs that. We also use the internet and have made some dear friends useing this tool.
