Howdy All, from the interior bush. We have been here for a little more than five years now. Moved up from the deep south. Gettin a little crowded down there for my taste. We live close to the Tanana River between Delta and Fairbanks and we do live remote. Transportation is by boat and four wheeler during the summer months. I am accessing the internet via a cell phone with a big antenna fastened to top of our cabin. Reception is a bit slow most of the time. We get all of our meat from the bush, moose, caribou and bear. We hit the salmon runs as well. We feed our sled dogs by salmon mostly during the winter. We have horses as well, curlies to be exact, very adept to the cold and harsh living. My boys and I trap as well. I work the construction seasons, carpentry, welding, dirt work, equipment operator etc. We pump our water with a 12 volt system and use a generator for what power we need. We love living in the bush and I am looking forward to spending some time here when the cold settles in this winter. We may not be able to post much for a while, got to much to do this time of year. Gotta put metal on the roof, build a horse fence and round pen, cut firewood for the house the green house and our neighbor(he is in bad health)for the winter, about 30 chords total from a six year old burn close buy, put moose and caribou up for the winter, etc. etc. etc. Those of you living out here in the bush know what I am talking about. Looking forward to meeting you all.

tananajoe: Enjoyed your post. It is a good reflection of what happens during day to day life in the bush. I am constantly amazed at the impression a lot of people have of life in the bush being boring. Boredom usually equates to inactivity and anyone that has spent time in the bush knows the score. Looking forward to hearing more from you in a couple months.

Sorry I missed your post. Welcome tananajoe. I will be glad to be reading more about your life also. I do so bad want to get farther out. I am still looking for my piece of heaven. I am looking for about 10 to 40 acres. I was way out of Fairbanks about 10 yrs ago and I miss the life style. I want to hear more about how you all live. Pics to go along with those words would be nice also. Again, welcome
