Some friends started asking me this week where to get good seeds. Most we buy locally are old, and just don't do well.
Here are some of the names of places where we buy or have bought seeds. We've had good results from their seeds, along with good service. Feel free to add to the list. Tonight I'll get the web addresses and post them under "Interesting Lynx"
Territorial Seed Company - located in the Pacific Northwest. They tend to have cooler wet summers, like us, so their seeds usually produce a good crop.
Johnny's Selected Seeds - Another good company - I think they're in Maine, so they have cold winters. They also carry a great pectin.
Stokes Seed Company - I haven't ordered from them in a couple of years. No particular reason. Good seeds, good prices, and very good customer service.
Irish Eyes - As the name implies, great selection of spuds! Also garlic, onions, and at least a little of everything else. Very informative catalog
Abundant Life Seeds - expensive, but very informative catalog, and wonderful selection, especially herb seeds. No genitically modified/hybrid stuff here. Good quality.
Denali Seed Company - They are an Alaskan company, and market their own seeds from their farm. Most things do quite well, but not really any better than other companies if you pay attention to the descriptions. They're a bit expensive, at least the last time I looked through their catalog, and selection was limited.
We've ordered from other companies ------ will add to the list as we think of more. Hope others will list their favorite catalogs, too, either here or under Interesting Lynx
