Here is what happens when you don't go over your equipment each time you go out. community.webshots.com/album/331154139RpQhwJ?895 I have been backpacking for years but this is the first time I have ever forgot my tent poles, but it was a good lesson learned. I would sure hate to be miles out in the bush only to discover that I forgot a critical medication. It sure was beautifull country where I was camped up near the snow line. The pictures labled Sheep Creek Are from a recent backpacking trip the others are from when I lived in Fairbanks

I can't get that link to work for me. I even copied and pasted it. I'd love to see "what happens". K

Woodsman: Enjoyed your photo's. Your tent pole thing reminded me of a story I heard from some people I met. They were booked on Caribou hunt with a air taxi operator out of King Salmon and horrible weather had resulted in many people camping in his back yard waiting for the weather to break. When the weather finally broke there was a real flurry of activity. When they were finally dumped off the time of reckoning arrived when the plane dissapears in the distance for a week. When they opened there garbage bag of food it turned out to be real garbage as they were camped next to a Dempsy Dumpster and grabbed the wrong bag in a hurry. Was a very long week.
