i am a big fan of how to books. the whole Foxfire series (12 bks)is wonderful even though it is a lower Appalachia focussed lifestyle. and the Pioneer Homesteding series (5bks) is just unequalled in the amount of information it presents. Carla Emery's book is a must have too.
