I asked that same question in another unrelated thread ---- not sure, but I think it was in Building in the Bush. Anyway, ugashikbob (robert now) replied and explained it. I haven't tried to do it, so really can't remember. It's really best for folks on a dial-up to just have the link so the pics don't slow it down too much when they want to just load the forum, but so far I don't think we have so many that it's a problem. If folks with dial-up complain about t being too slow, we'll just ask folks to put a link. I'll see if I can find the info from Bob.

Ok, let's see if I became intelligent enough to understand what Bob was saying Well cool beans, methinks it worked! This is one of the first pics of the Northern Lights that hubby took near our cabin in Chickaloon. Was taken with a 35mm lens and and very slow shutter speed. The funny thing about the lights, is when you look at them, they are a different color than when the photo comes out. These particular lights were white, yet the camera picked up the green. We have a couple of others where it picked up a bit of red also. I thought that was pretty nifty! Wolfie

Wolfie: Glad you were able to navigate through all the techie mumble jumbo and get it done. Nothing is more perplexing than having someone who has done it say its easy when there are gonzillion little pitfalls that can result in max frustration. It really isn't bad after you have done it a few times but the real challange is documenting your efforts so you can even understand it the next time. If you right mouse button click any posted picture and then properties you will see the URL that is actually a link to where the photo actually resides or is hosted. The board just provides a scripted function via the photo icon that in effect makes it a hot link. Here is one of our Northern Lights photos taken off our front deck and they are a real challange. BBNA/Hud has a calander photo contest every year and this one was selected for February. It seems over the years all of ours were selected for the early months and we never get our calander in the mail untill our month is gone. Guess we'll have to start doing more summer stuff.
