Hi Folks,
Just wanted to welcome our newest moderator, Lori. She is now moderating our Gardening forums --- general gardening and herb gardening. Now's the time to start planning, so if you have any questions, a new way of doing something, or just a gardening topic you'd like to discuss, let's get to talking.
Lori has taken the Master Gardening course through the extension service, and has lots of gardening experience, including having a greenhouse. She doesn't like to call herself an "expert", but she sure has lots of resources at her fingertips. Chuck and I have been wanting to take that course for years, but just never worked out. It's a wonderful class! I don't know if Lori's able to check in with the forum every day, so if she doesn't answer questions directed her way immediately, have patience.
Welcome, Lori! We're glad you joined us! ;D

Hi, Lori!
I have tried to invent a no-work garden this year, I will post more about it when I find out if it works or not!

Terri, I like that "no-work" garden idea of yours. ;D You could patent something like that. So, just between us, what is it? ???Guess I should have asked about it in the gardening forum, but just couldn't resist. I love gardening, but some years there's just too much else to do Jenny

Basically, it used drip irrigation and weed barrier.
Though, there WILL be some work in getting that weed barrier secure: I live in Kansas and it gets pretty windy in the spring!
I no longer do well in the heat of mid-summer, and then there is mowing and pruning and such to be done as well. I could USE a garden that needs no work in the summer heat!

Terri, wouldnt we all love a no work garden!! I imagine gardening in Kansas is a lot different from Gardening in Alaska. I have been here 8 years and still dont have it all figured out. I keep trying to do things the way my Dad did back in Wisconsin... doesnt work well though. Let us know how your drip system works, I would like to put something together like that for my green house!
