<if there is a better place for this, feel free to move it> Just thought I would start a thread with various resources for people who are considering (or just curious about) moving to Alaska. I'm in the process of researching as I find the time and thought I would post some of the sites and links here. Hopefully this way people won't be asked the same questions over and over! Feel free to add to the list. www.labor.state.ak.us/esd_alaska_jobs/ak_over.htm

We found this site while trying to figure out where (oh where) in Alaska we were going to move to... still don't know *g*. www.commerce.state.ak.us/dca/commdb/CF_BLOCK.htm It lists every community (or just about all of them) and has all kinds of information: local history, annual percipitation, schools, utilities, hospitals, pictures from lots of them, and lots more. Our possibilities list actually got longer when we found this, but we were able to mark a few areas out of the picture. Enjoy!

Hi, I'm new but I've been doing my homework planning for a possible move to the Homer,AK area. During my research I found this site listing the jobs with the highest growth rates with the percentage of anticipated growth in the state of AK between 2002 & 2012. Maybe for those of us not already in AK, this will help with any career changes or further education. www.acinet.org/acinet/oview1.asp?Level=Overall&from=State&stfips=02
