We started in Arizona with 2 siberian puppies. At about 3 to 4 months I measured them and bought harnesses for them. I hooked up small tree trunks, tires, and bikes to them. We would run them all over the place pulling first the piece of tree trunk. I would give them commands while I was running with them. Then as they got bigger we went to a heavier motor cycle tire. They pulled this until they were about 5 to 6 months old. I then hooked them to a bike. This can be very dangerous especially if you have very hyper dogs. At this age they should not be pulling your weight. Their bones are still growing and developing. It is easy to do permanent damage to the dogs body. If you want them to pull and pull good heavy weights wait until they are at least a year old. The plan would be to have a fall set of pupps and start training them running along side the team in the winter as well as hook them to the log, and tires. By spring hook them to a bike or running atv and run them with the team but let them pull as little as possible. Punish play, wandering off the trail. Use the words on by, You will have to either have older dogs that on by or someone in front pulling also and pull them on by.
