Any idea what a system like this costs and how much power it will generate on an average. Looking for info in order to set money aside for such a system. Thanks in advance.

Mountainguy: The total system I helped them design and install was very close to 25K. This cost will vary depending on transportation costs. This is a full blown system with a very large battery bank of 32 deep cycle batteries a 1 KW wind generator, 50' tilt up tower, 1KW of solar w/MPPT, 5.5KW inverter and all the additonal wiring and monitoring equipment. You can tweak the costs to your needs and it does not include costs for system design and installation if you are not the do it yourself type. The power generated will depend on your wind and solar exposure. I have a system with slightly more power and wind generation capability and it provides 99.9% of all of our power needs year round. It is much more cost effective to get rid of your power hogs than servicing them with RE. My costs were less but it was purchased 8 years ago. Wind and some other components may drop in price but I don't see solar getting cheaper with the blood sucking oil companies owning the majority of production.
