An older reference from the Canada Trapper form said there was info on this site about the construction of a chicken wire muskrat trap. Does any one know where it is?

I did a search and I couldn't find any in the last 365 days... Is there another word or words that could have been used?
By the way, welcome to the forum.

The post was posted in Canada National Trapper Alliance by "ALHOMESTEADER" April 25/2005 under heading "Funnel Traps". Re reading the post makes me believe that the Alaska Trappers association are the ones to contact. Thanks Gary PS Great Site

That was akhomesteader who is me. The ATA puts out a book on trapping in Alaska, they show how to make the traps I use them a lot during the spring 'rat season. I would show except the ATA sells the book to raise money and that is where I learned how to make them. Their web site is www.alaskatrappers.org

Did you get both books or just the Alaska Trappers Manuals. The Alaska How to Book has a lot of neat stuff from making snowshoes, sleds, netting, trapping, fish wheels you name it, it's probably has it.

I got the Alaska Trappers Manual. I will order the other as well. If you are using chicken wire for your mustrat traps, how heavy of wire do you use? Is 20 guage okay?

Got my first roll of chicken wire, and am in production mode. I have used this type of muskrat trap before, but can see now that the wire I used was way over kill. Thanks for the help.
