WELCOME HOME TO ALASKA Linda! ! ! ! Chuck and I are wishing you all the best, and wondering about your new life up here in the cabin. How's it going. Do you have electricity, runnning water, phone, etc? How long will you be able to stay there? Well, anyway, glad you made it and we're all looking forward to hearing more from you. Take care, Jenny & Chuck

Well, I am staying in a small (relatively so) cabin near Two Rivers out of Fairbanks... the weather isn't cold yet as ya'll probably know. Suppose to get below 0 tonight though. The cabin is unfinished but very comfy. It has electric and a source of water. It's heated with electric at the moment, but believe the owner wants to put in a wood stove. He just had a septic put in so I will have a toilet soon... An outhouse woulda worked, but he wants to sell it and figures it will sale better with a toilet! I am job hunting in Fairbanks... YICK! Ha... feels good to get back to the cabin after spending the day 'in town'...
How do I feel about being back in Alaska? I am not sure yet. Not real sure I like this area. I know I didn't like this area when I lived here before. But we will see... it just might grow on me. I want to see some mountains. Right now it looks about like the area in Oregon I just came from. But come spring things will change and I will be more mobile... sacrifice is part of having the dream, eh?
Anyway I will check in again….

Good luck with your job hunting!
Are you looking for a particular type of job, or just looking?

Welcome to Fairbanks Good luck finding a job, there are a lot of them out there. Unfortunately most pay less than $8.oo an hour. I live about 20 min out of town off Sheepcreek, I like the area at Two Rivers better. Again good luck, maybe we will run into each other. Mytime

Linda,
I am new to this forum, just found it and have been reading about your return to Alaska adventure.
I see your last post was just a few days ago and about finding work.
I spent 32 years in Two Rivers, retired three years ago and moved south.
From your description of where you live, it sounds like you are either very near, or in Angel Creek, or Chena Hot Springs.
If you would like to email me, I may have a lead on work for you that is actually in Two Rivers. Nothing concrete you understand, but there is a possibility, depending on if they are hiring and you have the skills they need.
I can give you contact information, like name, telephone number and/or specific directions to drive there from where you are.

Wow! I don't check in here for a while, and look what I missed!! Linda, how are you doing? Have you found work yet? Keep us posted! I've really about come to the decision that when the time comes, if I still can, I'm going back to Alaska, too, so am eager to hear how things work out for you.

Hi Kathleen! Great to see you back! Also glad to hear that you are still considering moving back to Alaska. I'm sure your family here will be happy! Linda, we're looking forward to hearing more from you too, when you find the time. Sounds like your living high on the hog with electricity and an indoor toilet ;D Keep us posted! Jenny
