Do you know, I think that a weedy garden needs more fertilizer than a weeded one? Either that or the unbelievable heat we have been having! My thermometer read 106 the other day, and while I think it reads a couple of degrees high that is STILL awfull hot!
I picked sugar baby watermelons this week, and they were ripe but TINY! My son thinks they are perfect when cut into forths, but they should have been larger.
I will fertilize today as I have a second planting that MIGHT produce before frost.
The greenhouse is a weedy mess, and it is almost time to get it into shape for the fall veggies.I covered some of the weeds with newspapers, perhaps I can shade them out to make the job easier. I will lay out more papers today. According to the calender now is the time to start veggies for the greenhouse, but it is too hot to direct plant and I would cook them. It MIGHT be too hot to start the seeds in pots: we shall see!
