We took these photos a few nights ago from our front deck. This is a young three year old growler recently kicked out of the nest by the sow being introduced to the fine art of salmon fishing. We watched him for almost an hour and he never came close. There was at least a thousand salmon went by while he was frothing the water. Almost human like gestures when the level of frustration reaches a peak. Several times he just sat down and slapped the water with his paw. I can tolerate this level of local fishing pressure. No noise from the air taxi planes, no garbage left on the bank and they don't kill everything to impress there friends and neighbors down south.

This guy may be a rookie but he is learning way to fast. Why go out in front and froth the water to a foam for hours when you can get them all filleted and dipped in juicy brine and layed out like a smorgesbord? Here he is in our front yard enjoying one of the fillets he just ripped out of the hole you can see in our drying rack. He even growled back at me when I yelled at him. He ran away for now but I'm sure he will be back.
