The Matanuska Valley Fish and Game Advisory Committee will meet on November 29th at the Big Lake Elementary School in Big Lake beginning at 7 PM. The meeting’s purpose is to continue developing proposals for the Joint Boards meeting next year and the upcoming Board of Game meeting in March. The deadline for submitting proposals for both of these meetings is December 8. Topics up for discussion include changes to the currently defined nonsubsistence areas around the state and the addition of a new advisory committee to represent the Susitna side of the valley. Proposals to eliminate some Tier II moose hunts and the archery-only early season were mentioned at the previous meeting. Adding bear-control measures to the predator control program will also probably be proposed.
