Hi everyone....
I see lots of info and discussion on these other posts about phone systems and internet this and satelite that, but, how do you get and send good old snail mail? Does a plane just buzz your place and thru down a bag full of mail or do you go to a near-by lodge and drop off stuff with them or maybe a neighbor with a plane? Or do you hike 15 miles to the nearest town and pick it up that way? Don't get me wrong I'm not making fun at all, this is a very serious question for me. The land I purchased is about 15 miles from Skewntna and I can with a small hike and boat trip make it there to the post office (if there is one there) in the warm months but I won't be able to do that for the other 7 months. So how do you guys in the bush get mail?

Santa dropping our Christmas mail. Due to varying weather conditions we have periods where we can neither travel by river, or land a plane on the lake and air drop is the only way. Haven't found a way to get outbound up to them.

Mail has been a real sore point with us. Skwentna is the nearest town however you can't get from here to there most of the year. Because of that and the fact we do our shopping in Anchorage we have our mail sent to an Anchorage address. Because we don't live in Anchorage we have to rent a box at the UPS Store this cost a pretty penny. Most air taxi will let you have your mail sent to them but it will still have to pay to get it delivered.
We tried for several years to get a rural route with monthly deliveries. Everyone we tried we got the same song an dance. I feel your pain but to bad can't help you.
